Tim Wilson
Tim has been carving and sculpting in wood for over ten years and exhibits his work locally as well as taking commissions. Based in Nidderdale, at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, most of his inspiration is taken from his local surroundings; his recent sculptures of stylistic birds were created after observing herons and other wildlife on a local stream.
He uses materials from sustainable forests and sculpts the wood by hand using a range of chisels to bring out the best shape and grain patterns. The carvings are very tactile, and are coated with a sealer and layers of wax polish to ensure each one is finished to an extremely high standard.
