Mary Colyer
Mary’s interest in jewellery really began in 1992 when she backpacked across Indonesia, Thailand and India. She became friends with a Thai girl, Penn, and her brother, Watt, who made jewellery. In the afternoons she used to sit in their thatched shop on the path to the beach and watch them working.
She trained at the Silversmiths Guild in Christchurch, New Zealand, The Surrey Institute of Art and Design in Farnham and The London Metropolitan University. Sources of inspiration are her travels and the intricate patterns and subtle textures found in nature.
